Basler bread

Our Basler bread is a dark wheat bread with a soft crumb and irregular pores. It is baked relatively quickly at a very high temperature to give an aromatic dark, sometimes almost black crust. We take Basler bread out of the oven a little earlier, resulting in a slightly lighter crust but maintaining the typical flavour.
